Living in Qatar and own a home, flat or shop in India? SiddhiSadan looks after it on the ground: tenants, rent follow-up, inspections, repairs and paperwork, with photo updates on your owner account and WhatsApp.

This page covers what is specific to owners in Qatar: when to call, how to make a power of attorney there, and the tax and banking points to check. Our base is Delhi NCR; for other Indian cities we confirm coverage for your address first.

Time difference and best call windows

IST is 2 h 30 min ahead of Qatar time (UTC+3). No daylight saving.

A 9 am Doha call is 11:30 am IST. With Qatar's Friday–Saturday weekend, Monday to Thursday overlap best.

You can message us on WhatsApp at any hour; we reply in Indian working hours and schedule calls in your window.

Making a power of attorney in Qatar

Qatar is not in the Hague Apostille Convention for this purpose. Sign the POA at, and have it attested by, the Embassy of India in Doha.

Where to go: Embassy of India in Doha.

A power of attorney executed abroad must be stamped (adjudicated) in India within three months of being received in India, and a POA that authorises sale of immovable property must be registered before the Sub-Registrar.

Tax on Indian rent if you live in Qatar

In India: Rent paid to a non-resident owner is subject to TDS. From FY 2026-27 this falls under section 393(2) of the Income-tax Act, 2025 (it replaced section 195 of the 1961 Act): there is no threshold, and the base rate is 30% plus applicable surcharge and 4% health & education cess. The tenant needs a TAN, files the TDS return and gives you the TDS certificate. You can apply for a lower or nil deduction certificate, and treaty (DTAA) relief may apply.

In Qatar: Qatar does not levy personal income tax on individuals' salary or foreign rent, so Indian TDS is your main tax on rent. File an Indian return to claim back excess TDS, or apply for a lower deduction certificate.

Getting rent to Qatar

Rent from Indian property should be credited to your NRO account. Money can be moved from NRO to your NRE or foreign account within the FEMA limit of USD 1 million per financial year, after taxes, using Form 15CA (and Form 15CB from a chartered accountant where required).

Common situations for Qatar-based owners

  • Plan Embassy visits for POA attestation in advance and carry passport, visa/QID and property details.
  • Short flights make in-person registry in India practical.
  • Rent from India goes to NRO; savings from Qatar go to NRE.

Services for owners abroad

Choose what you need; most owners start with tenant management and inspections.
